Sustainability is not defined by one single action but actually by a series of steps; both big and small. Some of these steps may be tiny adjustments, while others involve more significant changes. Regardless of their scale, every one of these actions and sustainable development goals plays an important role and contributes to the overall effort.
At Knights we support our customers working towards a more sustainable future.
One of those ways to sustain the future is by choosing items from our ECO range. Our ECO range has been specifically selected from suppliers that can prove their credentials and back their claims with facts.
We are able to provide simple but informative statistics for example;
1: FWRF115 Bantam Safety Boot:
- 12 recycled plastic bottles are saved from landfill, in every pair.
2. PS1100 Osprey Earthpro Poloshirt;
- Water - 120L Used in the Dye process, 11% Less used vs 2 Years ago

One area that can get overlooked in a business when talking about sustainability and net zero goals, is their branded workwear and PPE items. Most companies require durable, functional clothing, however, in a lot of cases the materials used and the manufacturing processes, can contribute to pollution and waste. ECO Workwear items offer a sustainable solution to this challenge and can make a significant impact on the environment. Here are a few examples of this;
- Eco-Friendly Materials - typically made from sustainable materials. These may include organic cotton, recycled polyester, or hemp, all of which have a far lower environmental footprint. Organic cotton, for instance, uses less water and eliminates the need for harmful pesticides, while recycled fabrics give new life to materials that would otherwise end up in landfills.
- Energy efficient production – the sustainable workwear suppliers/brands that we work with have in some cases adopted manufacturing processes that reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Some use renewable energy sources, like solar or wind, and implement efficient practices to minimise waste. These initiatives help lower the overall carbon footprint of each garment, making the production process less harmful to the environment.
- Durability and longevity of product – sustainable workwear products are designed to last longer, reducing the need to replace them often. Choosing a higher quality material not only saves money in the long run, but can also reduce the demand for new products, which then in turn cuts down on resources and energy needed for manufacturing.
- Recycling scheme – Knights have partnered with a company to recycle workwear items so that the fibres can then be recycled or reused. This circular economy approach not only helps divert workwear items from landfill sites and reduces the overall environmental impact, but also as the materials are securely destroyed, this also helps with brand protection.
- Ethical practices – sustainability is not only about the environment, but also about ensuring fair and ethical working practices for those involved in the manufacturing process.
